Is your skip to be placed on a Sussex highway?
If you need a skip located on a highway, we will arrange this for you and supply lights and cones as necessary. You will need to allow 5 working days for the permit to be obtained and it is subject to acceptance by the relevant local authority.
Sometimes it is not possible to get a permit, or you might need to keep your site access clear for other vehicles, or have restricted access. If this is the case, we can provide a ‘Wait and Load’ service. We deliver the skip at a time convenient to you and our driver waits for up to half an hour while you load. This enables you to safely and conveniently dispose of your waste without having a skip on site for any more time than absolutely necessary. This can be an ideal solution.
For customers who are unable to accommodate any of the options above, but need to dispose of only a few items of general waste, please ask about our Van Collection service.
Skip hire essentials – please remember …
- You are responsible for the items placed in your skip. If any of the restricted items listed on your paperwork are found in the skip, you will be charged an additional cost for the correct disposal. Or you may have the items returned.
- When filling your skip, it must be a level load, ensuring the waste remains contained within. In order to comply with safety regulations, the sides and ends of the skip must not be extended with boards or other means to increase the capacity.
- The skip is to remain exactly where the driver drops it off. If moved, you may need to unload the contents and move it back to the original delivery position before it can be collected
- If you have hazardous waste, such as asbestos, we offer a specific asbestos skip hire service.
